The Crypto Price Tracker displays live prices, 24-hour percentage changes, market capitalisation, and trading volume for the top 25 cryptocurrencies by market cap. Data is fetched directly from the CoinGecko public API (no API key required) and refreshes automatically every 60 seconds. Your browser makes the API call directly — we do not proxy or store any data.
How to use
- 1 The table loads automatically with the top 25 coins by market cap.
- 2 Use the search box to filter by name or symbol (e.g. "BTC", "ethereum").
- 3 Green percentages indicate a price increase in the last 24 hours; red indicates a decrease.
- 4 Click the refresh button to fetch the latest prices immediately.
- 5 Switch the display currency between USD, EUR, and GBP.
- What data does the crypto price tracker show?
- For each of the top 25 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, the tracker shows the current price in USD/EUR/GBP, the 24-hour price change percentage, total market capitalisation, and 24-hour trading volume. Market cap is calculated as current price × circulating supply and represents the total market value of a coin.
- What is market capitalisation and why does it matter for crypto?
- Market cap is the total value of all coins currently in circulation (price × circulating supply). It is used to rank cryptocurrencies by size. Large-cap coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum) generally have more liquidity and lower volatility. Mid-cap and small-cap coins can have higher growth potential but also higher risk of sharp price drops. Market cap helps put individual coin prices in perspective.
- How often does the price data refresh?
- The tracker auto-refreshes every 60 seconds. CoinGecko's free API updates prices approximately every 30–90 seconds depending on market activity. For tick-by-tick price data needed for active trading, use a dedicated exchange API or trading terminal — this tool is designed for monitoring and research, not millisecond-precision trading.
