CodeLint.Dev Dev Tools

Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 September 2026

These terms govern your use of CodeLint.Dev. They are deliberately short and readable, because a document nobody reads protects nobody. In summary: the tools are free, they run in your browser, nothing is guaranteed, the finance and tax calculators are arithmetic rather than advice, and you remain responsible for what you do with the results.

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using CodeLint.Dev (the “Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please stop using the Service. The Service is operated by CodeLint.Dev, and is referred to below as “we” or “us”. You can reach us at support@codelint.dev.

2. What the Service is

CodeLint.Dev is a collection of free online utilities for developers, finance and AI work, alongside written guides and reference material. There is no account, no sign-up, no subscription and no paid tier. We may add, change, or remove tools at any time without notice.

The Service is provided for your own use, whether personal or commercial. You do not need our permission to use the tools or their output in your work.

3. How your data is handled

The great majority of tools run entirely in your browser. What you paste, type or upload is processed on your own device and is not transmitted to us. We do not store it, and we could not produce it if asked.

A small number of tools cannot work that way, because they need data from a third party. Each one says so on its own page before you use it. At the time of writing these are the IP address lookup, the BIN lookup, the currency and exchange-rate tools, and the crypto price tracker — each of which sends only the specific value being looked up. The webhook tester sends a request to an endpoint you specify; nothing is sent anywhere else, and any secret you enter is used locally to compute a signature and is never transmitted.

Full detail, including advertising and analytics, is in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the data you process and for what you do with the results. In particular, you confirm that:

  • you have the right to process any data you enter, including any personal data belonging to other people;
  • you will verify any output before relying on it for anything consequential; and
  • your use complies with the laws that apply to you.

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and it is not intended for use by them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape the Service in bulk, or send automated requests at a volume that degrades it for others;
  • click or generate advertising impressions artificially, or otherwise interfere with advertising on the Service;
  • use the webhook tester, IP lookup or any other request-sending tool against systems you do not own or have permission to test;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its infrastructure, or any connected system;
  • reproduce or resell the Service, in whole or substantial part, as a competing offering; or
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, or to process data you have no right to process.

6. No professional advice

This restates the notice above because it is the clause most likely to matter. The finance, tax, investment and credit tools are calculators. They apply a stated formula to figures you supply, and each page sets out the method used and, where relevant, which jurisdiction’s rules and which tax year it is applying.

They do not account for your income, filing status, allowances, reliefs, regional variations, existing commitments or risk tolerance. Tax and financial regulations differ by country and change frequently, and the figures shown may be out of date. Results are estimates for planning and orientation only — never a recommendation, a quotation, or a basis for a transaction.

The same applies elsewhere on the Service. The security and network tools are diagnostic aids, not a security assessment. The AI tools produce estimates against published provider data that changes without notice. Nothing here creates a professional relationship of any kind between us and you.

7. Accuracy and availability

We take real care over accuracy — formulas are stated, sources are cited, and reference data is reviewed. We nevertheless make no guarantee that any tool, calculation, guide or dataset is accurate, complete or current. Third-party data such as exchange rates, crypto prices and model pricing may be delayed, incorrect or unavailable.

There is no uptime commitment. The Service may be unavailable, interrupted or withdrawn at any time. If you spot an error, please tell us — corrections are welcome and we act on them.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service uses third parties including Google AdSense for advertising, and public APIs for the tools listed in section 3. It also links to external websites. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Intellectual property

The CodeLint.Dev name, logo, page design, written guides and reference content are our intellectual property and are protected by copyright. You may read, quote with attribution, and link to them freely. You may not republish substantial portions, or reproduce the Service as a competing offering.

Anything you enter remains yours. We claim no rights over your input or over the output a tool produces from it, and you may use that output for any purpose, including commercially.

10. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including any loss arising from reliance on a calculation, guide or dataset published here.

Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us (which is nothing) or the minimum sum permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or reasonable cost arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

13. Changes and termination

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above will change when we do, and continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance. For significant changes we will make a reasonable effort to flag them on the site.

We may suspend or withdraw access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time — for example to address misuse under section 5. Since there are no accounts, this generally means restricting access rather than closing anything.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, and the courts of the United States shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you stronger rights, or a right to bring proceedings in your local courts, that law applies to you regardless of the preceding paragraph.

15. General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms, or anything else, go to support@codelint.dev, or use the contact page. If you have found an error in a calculator or a guide, we particularly want to hear about it.
