About
The Exchange Rate Tracker shows live rates for 30+ major currencies relative to any base currency, sourced from the European Central Bank. Each currency card shows the current rate and a change indicator. Rates are fetched directly in your browser — nothing is stored or tracked on our end.
How to use
- 1 Select your base currency from the dropdown (default: USD).
- 2 All major currency rates update automatically.
- 3 Click any currency card to make it the new base.
- 4 Use the search box to filter currencies by name or code.
- What currencies does the exchange rate tracker cover?
- The tracker covers 30+ major and widely traded currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, INR, BRL, MXN, ZAR, SGD, HKD, NOK, SEK, and more. These are all currencies for which the European Central Bank publishes daily reference rates.
- How do I compare two currencies against each other?
- Select your base currency from the dropdown — all rates are then shown relative to that base. For example, selecting GBP as the base shows how many units of every other currency one pound buys. To compare EUR to JPY, select EUR as the base and look at the JPY card, or switch to JPY as the base to see the inverse rate.
- Can I use this to track currency movements over time?
- The tracker shows the current daily rate from the ECB. For historical trend charts, the ECB publishes daily data going back years via the Frankfurter API. The change indicator on each card compares today's rate against the previous trading day to show overnight movement direction.
